You can delete your Krixo account and its data at any time, and you do not need the app installed to ask. This page explains both ways to do it, exactly what is removed, and the one thing we are required to keep.
Option 1: from inside the app
This is the fastest route, and it happens immediately.
- Open Krixo Reader and go to Settings.
- Open your profile.
- Choose Delete account and confirm.
If you have an active Pro subscription, cancel it first so nothing is left charging. Deleting your account does not by itself cancel a subscription billed through Google Play.
Option 2: by email
If you have already uninstalled the app, or you would rather we do it, write to support@krixo.in with the subject "Delete my Krixo account".
Send it from the email address the account is registered to. That is how we confirm the request is really yours. We cannot action a deletion request sent from a different address, because doing so would let anyone delete someone else's library.
You do not need to give a reason. We will not try to talk you out of it.
How long it takes
In-app deletion is immediate. Email requests are actioned within 7 days, and we will reply to confirm once it is done.
What is deleted
Everything tied to your account is removed from our systems:
- Your account: email address, name, and password hash.
- Your reading data: highlights, notes, drawings, bookmarks, reading progress, saved vocabulary, flashcards and their review history.
- Everything AI-generated for you: explanations, Krixo Notes, Audio Overviews, recall questions, and your conversations with the AI about your books.
- Any screenshots you captured and asked about.
- Your subscription record and device information.
Your book files
We never had them. Your PDFs and EPUBs live on your phone, not on our servers, so there is nothing for us to delete. Removing the app removes them with it.
If you switched on cloud backup, copies of your books are in your own Google Drive or Dropbox. Those are yours and we cannot touch them. Delete them from that account if you want them gone.
What we have to keep
If you ever paid for Pro, Indian tax and accounting law requires us to retain the payment record for that transaction, which includes the email address it was made under. We keep only what the law requires, for only as long as it requires, and we do not use it for anything else.
Everything else goes.
This cannot be undone
Deletion is permanent. There is no recovery window and no backup we can restore you from, which is the point. If you want to keep your highlights and notes, export them from the app before you delete.
