Terms of Service

Last updated 10 July 2026 · Krixo Labs

These terms are the agreement between you and Krixo Labs when you use the Krixo app. By creating an account you accept them. We have kept them short and readable; where something limits your rights, we have said so plainly rather than burying it.

1. Your account

You need an account to use Krixo. Give us an email address you can actually receive mail at - a password reset link is the only way back into your account, so a mistyped address means an account nobody can recover. You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for what happens under your account.

One person, one account. Do not share credentials. You must be at least 13 years old.

2. What you can do with Krixo

Krixo is a personal reading tool. Use it to read your own books and documents, and to make notes, quizzes and summaries for your own study.

Do not:

We may suspend or terminate an account that does these things. Where the situation allows, we will tell you why first.

3. Your content stays yours

Your books, highlights and notes belong to you. We claim no ownership of them.

You grant us a limited licence to store, transmit and process your content only so far as is needed to run the features you use - for example, sending a passage to an AI provider so it can answer your question about it. That licence ends when you delete the content. We do not use your content to train models, and we do not sell it. What is sent where is set out in the Privacy Policy, which you should read.

4. Free and Pro

Free. Reading, highlighting, notes, flashcards, vocabulary and search are unlimited and always free. AI features - Ask, Explain, Notes, quiz generation - are limited to 20 uses per calendar month, resetting on the 1st.

Pro. Unlimited AI, plus Audio Overview and narration. Pro is sold either as a pass (you pay once for a fixed period and it ends when it ends) or as a subscription (it renews automatically until you cancel). You choose at checkout. Buying another pass extends from whichever is later: today, or the end of your current one.

The price depends on your country and is shown to you before you pay. We may change prices; a change never affects a pass you have already bought, and we will tell you before it affects a subscription.

5. Payment and refunds

Payments are handled by Razorpay when you buy from us directly, and by Google Play Billing when you buy inside the app you installed from the Google Play Store. We never see or store your card details. Pro activates as soon as the payment is confirmed.

A pass charges once: nothing is taken again unless you buy another one. A subscription renews automatically until you cancel it, which you can do at any time from Settings in the app. If you subscribed through Google Play, cancel it in the Google Play app instead, under Payments and subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next charge and you keep Pro to the end of the period you have already paid for. If a payment succeeds but Pro does not activate, write to support@krixo.in and we will fix it or refund you.

Because Pro unlocks digital features immediately, we do not offer refunds for a period you have started using, except where the law requires it or where the service was genuinely unusable. Full details, including how to ask, are in the Refund & Cancellation Policy. If you think something went wrong, ask us - we would rather sort it out than argue.

6. AI output

AI can be confidently wrong. Explanations, summaries, quiz answers and Audio Overviews are generated by language models. They can misread a passage, invent a detail, or state something false in a persuasive tone. Krixo shows citations so you can check against the source, and you should.

Nothing Krixo produces is professional advice - not medical, legal, financial or academic. Do not rely on it for anything consequential without verifying it yourself.

7. Availability

We will try to keep Krixo running, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. We may change, suspend or withdraw features, and we may run maintenance that takes the service offline. AI features depend on third-party providers and can fail or slow down for reasons outside our control.

Your reading, highlighting and note-taking work offline and sync when you reconnect, so an outage should never lose your work.

8. Ending the agreement

You can stop using Krixo at any time and delete your account from Settings. Deleting your account permanently removes your data, as described in the Privacy Policy. If you have an active Pro pass, deleting your account forfeits the remainder of it.

We may terminate an account that breaches section 2, or if we stop operating the service. If we shut Krixo down, we will give you reasonable notice and time to export your notes.

9. Liability

Krixo is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost data, lost profits, or anything arising from your reliance on AI-generated output.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or ₹1,000.

Nothing here limits liability for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

10. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms materially, we will notify you in the app before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Krixo afterwards means you accept the new terms. The date at the top always reflects the current version.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer in a country whose law gives you rights that cannot be excluded by agreement, nothing here takes those rights away.

12. Contact

Questions, complaints, bug reports and grievances: support@krixo.in. We read everything.
